| Martyn Hazell, Chairman of the Dragons, said; "Over the past three years the Board and staff at Rodney Parade have strived to install professional structures and procedures upon which to grow the business.
"The appointment of Gethin Jenkins is another pillar to this structure and he will help lead, along with the Board, the organisation into a bright and viable future."
Commenting on his appointment Gethin Jenkins said:, "I believe this appointment is in recognition of the work not just myself but all the staff have done in delivering a robust and viable organisation that's committed to strong financial and sustainable management as well as developing local talent to represent the region on the field.
"Three years ago we were branded the most unstable rugby organisation in Britain and I believe our growth and the processes we have put in place in the last three years means we have finally shed this tag.
"With a new stadium on the horizon there's a strong and bright future ahead."
Jenkins joined the region in the summer of 2004 as Commercial Director and joined from the IRB.
