| The 62-times-capped fly half suffered an injury to his groin during Wales training camp in Nantes last week that keeps him out of this match, but results of medical scans have been positive revealing just a partial tear to a tendon which will not require surgery.
And the 2005 British and Irish Lions tourist has urged his Wales team to send a Rugby World Cup warning to their rivals against England. But the fly half reckons Wales must first prove they can do the business against the reigning champions.
Jones said: "It would be great to beat England there. We always enjoy playing against them and it will be an important game as it is our first one.
"It will be important to put down a marker. The coaches will be interested to see where we are as a team and the important thing is to perform well.
"The aim is to keeping raising the bar as a team as we go through August and get ready for the World Cup. Make no mistake, we want to win all three games in August, but the most important thing is to reach the World Cup in peak condition as a team."
Wales face Argentina on August 18th and France a week later in Cardiff (August 26th) before travelling to the Rugby World Cup.
