| Wales Team Physio Mark Davies expects the pair to recover in time to play at least one of the two games against France and Argentina at the Millennium Stadium – tickets are still available through www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
“We took a couple of knocks last week,” said Davies, after the squad returned from their training trip to their Rugby World Cup base in France.
“We took on board that was going to happen with contact on the Wednesday and Friday plus a heavy conditioning programme through the week, so inevitably we were a few bodies down, but all those are relatively minor.
“Shane had an operation on his elbow and his shoulder and he is well down the track with his rehab and doing well. He is going to take an active part in terms of games at the end of the August friendlies and at the moment that looks like being France.
“He has taken a full part in everything bar contact and his final conditioning programme which he has yet to undertake.
“Stephen sustained a groin injury in the Friday contact game. It was an innocuous injury, you really could not put it down to anything sinister or that could have been prevented.
“I will wait for the result of scans before putting my head on the block but we would like to think he can take some part in the August international programme, though he is definitely out of this weekend.”
