The 2007–2008 Konica Minolta Cup will kick-off on the weekend of September 29th with 171 teams from across Wales involved in the Preliminary Round.
Teams from the Principality Premiership and WRU National League Divisions 1 and 2 are exempt from the draw at the Preliminary stage and there are 87 sides who have been awarded byes and access to Round 1.

Division 2 sides enter the tournament in Round 1, Division 1 sides in Round 2 and Principality Premiership teams – including current champions Llandovery – in Round 3.

The Konica Minolta Cup embraces all levels of Welsh rugby and is a chance for the smaller sides in the game to share arenas with the more recognised names.

There are a further 84 clubs in the draw all vying for a place in the first round proper, including Division 3 village side Seven Sisters who caused a sensation in 1998 by reaching a semi-final before falling to Llanelli.

The first Welsh Cup took place in 1972 and was lifted by Neath, who beat Llanelli 15-9. However, the Stradey Park side have gone on the win the Cup on 13 occasions, earning them the accolade of Welsh Cup Kings.
