Wales physio Mark Davies today confirmed Ospreys back row Jonathan Thomas has broken a bone in his hand – an injury which is likely to sideline him for around one month.
24-year-old Thomas sustained the damage during pre-Rugby World Cup training at Wales’s Vale of Glamorgan base-camp over the weekend and doctors have discovered a fracture.

“Jonathan is likely to be out of action for approximately one month,” said Davies. “The injury occurred as the result of a collision in training and scans to his hand have shown up a fractured metatarsal.”

Thomas will be unavailable for Wales’s visit to Twickenham on August 4th, but should return to contention in time for the visits of Argentina and France to the Millennium Stadium in the Invesco Perpetual Summer Series on the 18th and 26th of August respectively.
