Dragons to face Calvisano in Euro play-off

Rugby Calvisano have qualified to meet the Dragons in the 24th place play-off match for the 2007–2008 Heineken Cup at Rodney Parade on Friday May 18th (7.45 pm).

Rugby Calvisano reached the play-off as the best placed non-qualified Italian team in the Super 10 Championship having lost to Viadana on points difference over the two legs of the semi-finals.

The Dragons are playing for their place in the Heineken Cup via a Rodney Parade play-off for the second successive season.

Last year they were defeated by Overmach Parma and it was the Italian side who took their place in Europe's top tournament. They found the going tough and were winless in their Pool.

This is in direct contrast to the Dragons who found life in the European Challenge Cup a little easier. They easily qualified from their Pool and were denied a place in the final after going doing 46-29 to ASM Clermont Auvergne in a thrilling semi-final.
