Bonymaen and Pontypool United both won their semi-finals on Saturday to secure spots in the final of the National Youth League Play Off Final.
The Final, at Rodney Parade on 19th May 2007; is a clash which will determine the overall Youth Leagues Championship. The Youth Leagues are played out through 28 Divisions divided into four regions throughout the country and Bonymaen, having risen to the top of the Ospreys region, disposed of their North Wales visitors, Scarlets regional table-toppers Nant Conwy, 43-14 in the first of two semi-final play-offs this weekend.

In the other game, Pontypool Utd claimed a narrow 21-20 victory over Rumney, their visitors from the Blues region, and now continue the Dragons region's bid to claim the Youth Leagues Championship title.

Bonymaen led Nant Conwy 17-0 at half time, but the North Walians were still in with a shout on the hour mark after clawing back to 24-14, before three late tries sealed victory for the home club. Dean Howells, Dan Butt, Lloyd Harris, Nick Harward, Chris Hoppe and Dean Williams all went over for the finalists with fly half Stewart Thorne kicking the remaining points.

For Pontypool United, led by Captain Danny Crander, it was Jamie Tibbs who claimed most of the glory; kicking for the posts, with a try already under his belt, to clinch a one point victory in a closely fought contest.
