| Jones was made to sweat by the Borders right up to the final minutes of the match as they mounted a spirited fightback against the Ospreys in their very final match before being disbanded by the SRU.
"We were made to work hard and the feeling is more of relief than anything else," said Jones. "Naturally we are thrilled, but it is hard to celebrate when the team we faced are going out of existence.
"Borders produced a really brave performance, as we knew they would, and we feel for them, but we had a job to do and we completed that. We have lost twice in the past at this venue so we took nothing for granted."
