Webb Ellis Youth Cup raised by Bridgend

Bridgend Athletic Youth beat Waunarlwydd Youth by 26 points to 3 to win Saturday's Cup Final at Aberavon RFC.

The match was a closely fought affair. Bridgend Athletic Youth led 11-3 at half-time against the run of play.

In the second half the extra power of the Bridgend team took its toll on a gutsy Waunarlwydd team. Despite the best efforts of Captain Nathan Hart and his Waunarlwydd team, Bridgend Athletic scored a brace of tries late in the second half to decisively settle this final tie.

For Bridgend Athletic Youth tries were scored by Scott Baldwin, David Pritchard and Craig Chalmers. Scott Robinson kicked 3 penalties and a conversion whilst Jonny Lewis kicked a penalty to record the sole Waunarlwydd score.

Nathan Hart was rewarded for his outstanding effort for the runners up by being named the Webb Ellis Man of the Match.
