Two youth teams from the Ospreys region have made it through to the Webb Ellis Youth Cup final, to be played at Aberavon RFC on Saturday (kick-off 1pm).
Bridgend Athletic Youth and Waunarlwydd Youth will take to the field to try to claim cup glory on the Bank Holiday weekend in the premier cup competition in Wales at U19 level.

It took two matches for Bridgend Athletic Youth to overcome Merthyr Youth at the semi-final stage, with the first match ending in a 10-10 draw. Bridgend Athletic nudged out Merthyr in the replay 15-14 to make it through to the final.

In the other semi, Waunarlwydd Youth, who have already won the Ospreys B division of the National Youth League, beat Ystrad Rhondda 23-0.

Twenty-four youth teams were entered into this competition, two were nominated by each of the twelve youth districts.

On their way to the final, Bridgend Athletic also beat Ynysybwl Youth and Carmarthen Quins Youth, while Waunarlwydd beat Newport HSOB Youth and Rumney Youth.

Peter Owens, WRU Community Rugby Operations Manager said, "Youth rugby is vital in the development of the game in Wales and it is heartening to see increased participation levels.

"Congratulations to both Bridgend Athletic Youth and Waunarlwydd Youth for making it to the Cup final, I'm sure they will produce a competitive and entertaining game of rugby at Talbot Athletic Ground."
