Premiership basement boys Llandovery came from behind to knock out Bedwas in a 21-14 quarter-final thriller. The Cup is proving a welcome distraction from a Premiership relegation battle which threatens ASDA League rugby at Church Bank next season.

Llanelli took the scalp of current Konica Minolta Cup holders Pontypridd with a 37-30 Stradey Park victory in the quarter-finals. Head Coach Kevin George will be looking to mastermind the downfall of the Drovers who won 21-6 when the sides last met in the league last September.

This weekend's clash at the home of the Wizards promises to deliver thrills and spills and could well be decided by a moment of magic.

Cardiff and Bridgend meet in the second semi-final at Sardis Road, Pontypridd, on Sunday (kick-off 4.40pm). The Blue and Black sealed their semi-final place with a 39-8 hammering of Swansea at St Helen's in the quarter-finals.

The Ravens, meanwhile, stole a last gasp 20-19 win over Aberavon to move a step closer to a big day in the capital. It's currently honours even between the two sides in the league with Bridgend and Cardiff both winning on home turf.

Bridgend came out on top 14-5 when the sides last met in December at the Brewery Field while Cardiff won their Arms Park encounter 24-21 in September. Bridgend will be hoping to tip the balance in their favour and secure local bragging rights in what promises to be a bruising encounter at the 'house of pain'.
