Four changes for Wales U19

Wales U19 coach Justin Burnell has switched his half backs for Monday night’s second assignment at the IRB U19 World Championships against Samoa in Belfast.
Ebbw Vale’s David Langdon will get the chance to start his first game in the tournament having lasted only a minute in the defeat against the young All Blacks after being sin-binned almost immediately after coming on as a replacement for try scorer Gareth Owen.

Glamorgan Wanderers scrum half Gareth Williams takes over the No.9 shirt from Rhys Webb having made a good impression in the latter stages in the opening game after coming on as a replacement.

Following that 37-14 first night defeat to New Zealand, Burnell has made five changes in total, one of them positional, to his original team for the next challenge against Samoa.

The Samoans led England in the early stages of their first assignment before finally going down to a 20-12 defeat. England only managed to score two tries against the traditionally tough tackling Samoans and the Welsh set-piece will have to be at its best to lay a platform for a much needed victory.

Other changes see Ebbw Vale hooker Ben Roberts replace Huw Dowden and Llangennech’s Haydn Pugh take over from Nathan White at lock. The positional change sees skipper Sam Warburton start at No.8 rather than blindside flanker.
