Tighthead prop John Davies will make his 100th appearance in a Scarlets shirt when he takes to the field against Border Reivers on Friday night in a Magners League clash at Stradey Park.
Davies will be the second player to reach the milestone, following in the footsteps of second row Adam Jones. The ex-Wales front rower is one of five changes to the pack which brushed aside Munster last Friday in the Heineken Cup quarter-final.

Loose head Phil John gets his first league start since September while Adam Jones returns to the second row in place of Vernon Cooper, who is nursing sore ribs.

James Bater and Dafydd Jones replace Gavin Thomas and Alix Popham respectively in the back row. There is only one change to the backline, where Matthew Watkins comes in for Regan King at outside centre, with the Kiwi dropping to the bench.

Scarlets: Barry Davies; Dafydd James, Matthew Watkins, Gavin Evans, Mark Jones; Stephen Jones, Dwayne Peel; Phil John, Matthew Rees, John Davies, Adam Jones, Scott MacLeod, Simon Easterby (Capt), James Bater, Dafydd Jones

Replacements: Deacon Manu, Ken Owens, Inoke Afeaki, Alix Popham, Liam Davies, Ceiron Thomas, Regan King
